The HDY-240 "Seabed Eagle" Small Target Search Imaging Sonar is a cutting-edge imaging sonar developed over several years by leading global sonar imaging scientists and hydrologists. It was specifically designed to meet the needs of detecting and recovering small targets such as sunken mines in deep lake test sites and surface vessels.
This sonar employs advanced transducer and beamforming signal processing technologies. It operates at a frequency of 240 kHz and can generate 1,200 receiving beams over a 120° angle measurement range, with an angular resolution of 0.1° x 0.39°. According to international research, this sonar is currently the world's highest resolution underwater imaging sonar. It can detect objects as small as 0.125 cubic meters at depths of up to 300 meters. The sonar is particularly effective for detecting small underwater unexploded ordnance (UXO) and other hazardous objects, such as floating acoustic monitoring buoys. It is also suitable for detailed three-dimensional mapping of riverbeds, lakebeds, and seabeds, as well as for inspecting underwater fixed installations.
